Uncle Normand

My wonderful Great Uncle Normand passed away this morning. I have a handful of sweet memories with this loving man. God bless Uncle Normand, I'll see you when its my time.

Normand H. Berube of Natick, formerly of Fall River, died Sunday May 17, 2009 at his home at the age of 85.He was the beloved husband of Mary R. (McGreavy) Berube who died in 2000; the dear father of Sr. Kathleen F. Berube C.S.J. of Brighton, Normand H. Berube & his wife Stephanie Charles of Mountain View Ca., Maureen R. Berube of Natick, Michelle Ashin & her husband Laury of Natick. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Normand was born and raised in Fall River on October 2, 1923, a son of the late J. Alfred and Eugenie (Arcand) Berube and had been a resident of Natick for the past 34 years. A graduate of Prevost High School in Fall River, he was president of his class and was active in arranging its class reunions. He later attended Northeastern University, graduating in 1970.A veteran of WW II, he served with the U.S. Navy from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1945. Prior to his retirement, Normand had been employed by Genrad as an electronics engineer. For several years following his retirement, he had worked at the former Finnerty’s in Wayland, repairing its chairs.Throughout his life he enjoyed reading, genealogy and especially woodworking, designing miniature homes and furniture. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in St. Zepherin’s Church (at Cochituate Village) Wayland Wednesday at 11 AM. Visiting hours in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) Natick Monday 6 to 8 PM and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery Natick.
